Every dog owner knows that not all dog parks are created equal. Some are good, some are bad. And while your mutt might not care, if you’re going to spend a substantial amount of time there, it’s best that the human counterparts find it at least tolerable.
Laguna Lake Dog Park is one of the better dog parks in the San Luis Obispo area. With plenty of space for fido to roam, romp, and play, the park also offers ample seating for dog owners to watch from the sidelines. Plus, it’s a large enough space for a substantial game of fetch with the Chuck-It.
If your pooch is more inclined to play with others than play a game of fetch, there are generally several other friendly dogs around ready to play. Head to the park any weekday evening around 5 p.m. and you’re guaranteed to have plenty of company.
Several water stations are located throughout the park and offer fresh drinking water for tuckered out dogs. While the park itself is not fenced in, it is located at the very end of the park entrance, keeping park goers far from the busy streets nearby.
The park is also adjacent to the Laguna Lake open space, which provides access to several dog-friendly hiking trails (leash required). Not only can your dog get his or her exercise, but you can too!
Best for: all breeds, active and social dogs.
