Where you’ll stay
If you’re looking for a beach getaway for two, look no further than this San Diego cottage guest studio. Cozy and quaint but stocked with all the necessities, this studio has its own private entrance, giving it a secluded feel. French doors open to a garden patio where you can relax in the sun and listen to the ocean. Inside the studio, you’ll find a queen bed, a dining table and chairs, a full bathroom and a kitchenette. With a mini fridge, microwave, toaster and blender, you can whip up easy meals right in your studio – and the host does the dishes!

Why we love it
This cottage provides everything you need for a perfect day at the beach. Bicycles, beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, towels, and boogie boards are all available for you to enjoy. It’s just a short walk to the ocean, so you’ll be lying on the sand in minutes. If your dog is a beach bum too, drive over to one of San Diego’s dog friendly beaches, so you both can enjoy the surf.

The studio is located at the southern border of La Jolla, in close proximity to the boardwalk and numerous shops and restaurants. Visit in August, and you’ll be just in time for San Diego’s Surf Dog Competition – an adorable surf contest for dogs and their owners.

What you need to know
Dogs under 25 lbs. are welcome in this studio for a fee of $10 per night, but make sure you get pre-approval from the owner. You’ll have a free parking spot for one car if you drive, but the studio is also a half block from the San Diego Transit Bus system, which can also get you to the San Diego Trolley. This non-smoking studio is $149 night, and a maximum of two guests are permitted. The owners live in the adjacent house, so they’re available if you have questions or want recommendations from a local.

Editor’s Note: As always, we recommend that you check with the homeowner for specific restrictions on breed, size or number of dogs allowed in the residence.
