Muddy Paw Coffee Company
3320 Sunset Boulevard
Los Angeles, CA 90026

On the coveted stretch of Sunset in Silverlake, an unassuming, community-minded coffee shop serves artisan coffee and pastries, plus a higher purpose: helping dogs in need while keeping you caffeinated, ensuring everyone’s tail stays a-wagging.

Inspired to help animals after Hurricane Katrina, the LaBroie Brothers combined their two passions, coffee and dogs, to open this kind-hearted café. Of course, their dogs Bailey, Fluffy, and Indy supported them 100%. The dog-themed shop donates 50 cents per pound of coffee sold to local animal shelters and other groups bringing pets and people together. Rest assured, their coffee is killer too. Roasted at a family-run, small-batch company in New Hampshire, each blend satisfies your need for a rush, named after everyone’s best friend; Spot, Buddy, and Growler are just a few varieties.

Dog owner? Just love dogs? Just love coffee? Regardless, Muddy Paw welcomes you. Stop in to pick up a pound, add a (second) furry companion to your family from a hosted rescue event, or lounge with yours on the hidden puppy-filled patio. The cozy oasis feels more like a friend’s backyard, complete with plush chairs, plants fit for a spa, and local artworks.

Soak up the California sunshine, good vibes, and wifi (yes, there are even outlets!) as you enjoy an Americano and vegan sticky bun. But it’s not all about you…there are water bowls and free treats for your pooch to relax too.

If you’re puppy-less and not looking to adopt, Muddy Paw is still ideal to get some work done while basking in the dog-loving ambiance. Make sure to chat up co-owner Daniel, who frequents the shop to provide info on coffee and canines with a warm smile.

The vibe is cool and casual, not overrun with wanna-be screenwriter and entrepreneur types (like so many other shops). Just dog and coffee lovers hang here. Bring your better half, or just come to pet the furry patrons and stay awhile. The do-good attitude and cheery décor will brighten your day. Bet your local Starbucks can’t do the same!

Best for: coffee aficionados, sunbathing pups, small to medium-sized sprawlers and loungers
