Laurel Canyon Dog Park
8260 Mulholland Drive
Los Angeles, CA 90046

Take a break from the weekday grind and get social at LA’s original dog park…complete with an off-leash playpen. Roll the windows down and take the uphill, windy road up the famous Mulholland Drive to Laurel Canyon Dog Park. A short walk down the hollow of the canyon, and you and your favorite four-legged friend have arrived at some serious wide open space. This park is ideal if you’re in between Hollywood and Studio City.

Laurel Canyon Park boasts three acres with benches, tables, and chairs for lounging. Bonus: there’s also a drinking fountain for the four-legged one and a shaded structure for when it’s time to take a break from making new friends and chasing frisbees. There’s also the oft-sought after fenced off area for the smaller pups; most patrons abide by its parameters, but be aware of rowdier co-minglers if your dog is on the delicate side.

Is it playtime yet? Grab a coffee and bask in the Hollywood views while your dog runs free. If you have some time, take one of the recommended routes on Mulholland, and see even better sights.

Some need-to-knows: Open from sunrise to sunset, Laurel Canyon Park gets busy in the evenings and during the weekends. The park is closed every Friday from 6 AM to 11 AM for maintenance. Also, Fido’s frolicking will happen on the mostly-dirt expanses, so prepare for a dusty mutt after he’s finished.
