A DTLA dwelling fit for your and your four-legged companion’s picky taste in patios: The Must. This is the spot to brunch with friends, grab post-work drinks, or refresh after a long stroll. Lauded as a wine bar, The Must serves up a whole lot more including (but not limited to) a relaxed yet fanciful ambiance, killer happy hour, friendly service, and New American grub to munch on alongside your sipping cup.
The Must is incognito in the Fashion District, adding to the cool factor but also the nowhere-to-park factor. We recommend paying a visit for happy hour…to avoid the dinner rush, of course. Grab something a little different, like one of their delicious sangrias, European lagers, white wine from Serbia, and munch on smashed latkes, all under 10 bucks each. If you’re coming for brunch, the cholo fried rice is required, as are the bottomless mimosas and board games. Vegans and vegetarians be merry, as there are many options for your palette as well.
The decor is reminiscent of NYC—an industrial dark underpinning flanked by brick, bright blue doors welcome the fresh air, and artful paintings spot the walls. The pooch will love sprawling on the cool concrete as the string lights flicker under the night sky. Bonus, your server will gladly bring a water bowl and homemade biscuits, gratis.
Not yet convinced this place is a must? Don’t just take our word for it.
Best for: brunch hunters, happy hour hounds, wine connoisuers who like that Big Apple feel
