Rise, shine, grab the leash, and stroll over to Hugo’s for breakfast. This dog friendly Los Angeles joint has a raised patio and all the goods: 100% organic, dishes cooked to order, and spot on service. Be warned, this place can get crowded and the staff runs a tight ship with favorites selling out fast—said dishes are healthful crowd pleasers. LA vegetarians who like a tradition go HAM (no pun intended) on their chilaquiles, almond pancakes, very green casserole, and pasta mama and papa. Perk up with freshly brewed coffee or ginger lemonade. The pooch will enjoy nutritious bites and mingling with others of his kind.

Hugo’s serves two locations in ‘proper’ LA, and three all together: the original and oft-flocked to outpost in WeHo (aka more crowded), and Studio City, with less chance of a wait and decidedly more attentive staff. Agoura Hills is the newest location, just off the beaten path. No matter which location you choose, you can expect a delicious no-nonsense breakfast, dog approved.

We dig the WeHo location for green juice, full plates, and a water bowl for the furry one. Might we suggest Runyon beforehand?

Best for: patio lovers, LA brunch rovers, pups that like to make friends
