Little Next Door
8142 West 3rd Street
Los Angeles, CA 90048
Welcome to Little Next Door; a quaint French restaurant serving up delicious food, drinks, and dog friendliness all day, every day…but might we suggest brunch? Universally known, brunch occurs during prime time for enjoying the great outdoors with your dog, plus people watching on trendy 3rd Street in Beverly Grove. Bonus: brunch ends at 4 PM and happy hour starts at 4 PM every Monday-Thursday. We’re not suggesting an all day bender, but the coincidence is striking. Make of it what you will.
No matter the occasion, you and the pooch will dine al fresco on the patio…and quite a patio it is! Nestled under a foliage-laced canopy, vibrant blue and gold touches add a Mediterranean feel with an ambiance of casual chic for a truly enchanting dining experience. Locals and visitors alike flock here, including French transplants (so you know it’s good). Don’t be surprised if your pup’s ears perk at the romantic, melodic conversations of Francois.
Word to the wise: TLND gets packed during weekend brunch, so come during the week for ample lounging room (plus the aforementioned back-to-back brunch and happy hour).
As for the menu, it’s superb if we do say so ourselves. Indulge in the oft-loved wild mushroom eggs benedict, moules frites, and the essential French classic escargot. The French onion soup is $11, but worth it. And for the health food addict/vegan, might we recommend the raw vegetable wrap? On the contraire, TLND serves up killer chicken and waffles (like Roscoe’s, but classier). Pair anything from the menu with champagne or (and?) a Bloody Mary. For the four-legged one, water is graciously provided.
While we clearly adore this place for its generous brunch hours, healthy booze life, and dog friendly patio, it also makes for an ideal date night for the hopeless romantic who refuses to leave their dog behind.
After your French feast, take a stroll around the nearby trendy shops for window shopping and people watching, Los Angeles style. Trés chic!
Best for: French bull dogs, patio hopping pups, siesta-loving socialites, weekday brunchers
