“Hey hey, Mama, said the way you move, gonna make you sweat, gonna make you groove.”[And now you crinkle your nose all weird and go….] [And then there’s that guitar part that’s totally impossible to write, but you know the one.]
Now that we have that catchy tune stuck in your head, let us transition from Led Zeppelin to live music that has to do with dogs—see what we did there?
Meet Black Shirt Brewing Company—Denver’s gentle giant.
Oh sure, it’s a bunch of loud-music playing, beer-knowing, probably better-than-you folks with their facial hair and fashionable dark clothing, but the truth of the matter is is that you’ll be hard-pressed to find a friendlier bunch of dog-loving people.
Per the beers on offer—my god, you’re in heaven. At the time of writing, the Pistachio Lavender Red Rye, the Blood Orange Double IPA and the cranberry sour had us writing this piece twice because who needs to save a document before closing it out for one more round, right?
Add to all of this, a fantastic outdoor porch/patio/live music area where smelly humans and their clean pooches run around and no one misbehaves.
Per the snacks—there are none. Which makes us take a point away because if they had snacks for both us and Fido, we might be coming here much more often, but—again—factor in the quality of the people, the beers brewed on site and the laissez-faire attitude to everything, we can’t help but make this a staff favorite.
