Fall is officially in full swing. Those friends of yours from back home have stopped visiting and you can feel the chill in the air, which means—even though you’re paying $50,000 a month in rent in San Francisco—you need to get out of the house with your dog and finally be active in that ActiveWear you keep buying, but only using to shop at Whole Foods.

But where does an educated and easily-irritated-by-crowds local like yourself escape to for a fine fall stroll?

Fort Funston.

(By the way, we just heard you make that noise—the noise that’s kind of like an “aarrggghh” but that denotes you’ve been meaning to visit Fort Funson for years, rather than pain.)

Arguably. No, probably. No, definitely. Yes, definitely the best dog park in the entire city. It’s not officially a dog park, but don’t tell that to your dog. Big sandy spaces! Great views! And just far enough from the city that most will never (ahem) make the effort.

And for godssakes, the word “fun” is even in the title!

Start your two mile trek in the parking lot and prepare to have one very tired, very happy pooch in the backseat when it’s all said and done.

(And we’d say, “bring a jacket, snacks, and water for both!” but you live in San Francisco, which means you already travel everywhere with all those things.)
