Some call it “BBQ,” some call it a “burger shack,” some call it “heaven in Los Angeles,” and others call it their “local bar” (even though it’s a restaurant). Take all of those accolades and then throw in “great beer” and “super dog friendly” and no doubt you’ll find yourself a good time at Boneyard Bistro.
The sweet, sweet smell of hand rubbed BBQ permeates the air as you approach, sure to tickle Fido’s and your salivary glands. Inside, the vibe is hip and trendy—at least as much as a BBQ joint can be.
Once you arrive, grab a seat on the dog friendly patio out front and take a few moments to absorb the menu: Slow Hickory Smoked Pork Ribs, The Burn in Hell Burger, and The Wedge Salad (should you prefer something on the lighter side).
Or, if you’re with a group of two to four, you might consider The Evanator: a delectable platter of baby backs, St. Louis and beef ribs, brisket, tri-tip, pulled pork, chicken, fried mac, baked beans, and coleslaw. All yours for a hundred bucks. Your dog will appreciate the leftovers, if there are any.
We suggest taking advantage of these long, warm summer days with some damn good meat and beers (42 taps and more than 125 craft bottles, to be exact). Bring a handkerchief to wipe the drool from Fido’s chops, or yours. Come hungry, prepare to leave drunk.
Keep in mind, Boneyard is located on the busy Ventura Boulevard. Allow yourself a few extra minutes to snag a parking spot on the street.
